Medway Wetlands Practical Volunteer

Maidstone

To aid in the management and restoration of habitats in the Medway Valley, working on Holborough Marsh, Peters Pit and Wouldham Common. You will work alongside other like-minded volunteers to improve wet grassland for breeding waders such as lapwing and redshank, chalk grassland for butterflies and wildflowers, as well as aid in the restoration of woodland and scrub habitats.

Queendown Warren Practical Team Volunteer

Swale

At Queendown Warren you will help with removing scrub and improving the chalk grassland for butterflies and wildflowers. Rotational scrub and woodland coppice and ride management to encourage breeding birds such as Nightingale and Turtle Dove, along with orchids and Adders.

Darland Banks Practical Team Volunteer

Medway

Join our dedicated team at Darland Banks in the heart of the Medway Towns, you will help with removing scrub and improving the chalk grassland for butterflies and wildflowers. Rotational scrub coppice and ride management to encourage breeding birds along with orchids and Adders. In summer we count one of the biggest populations of Man Orchids in the country.

Nashenden Practical Team Volunteer

Medway

At Nashenden Down you can help with one of our exciting wilding sites, returning ex arable farmland back into flower rich meadow, woodland and scrub mosaic full of butterflies and wildflowers. Rotational scrub and woodland management to encourage breeding birds such as Nightingale and Turtle Dove, and managing ponds of amphibians and dragonflies.

Darent Valley Volunteer

The Darent Valley Landscape Recovery Pilot is a collaborative project between Kent Wildlife Trust, the Darent Valley Farmer Cluster, and other project partner organisations. One of 22 first-round landscape recovery projects in England, the project aims to restore the River Darent and a connected mosaic of habitats across the landscape, supporting nature’s recovery in the Darent Valley.
