Data Management Volunteer

Help the digital team manage and digitise a range of data on our conservation work.

Why do we need you?

The digital team are transforming Kent Wildlife Trust into a digitally modernised organisation, making it easier for ecologists, wardens and everyone in the field to do their work. We need volunteers to boost our efforts and help us digitise and manage the data which our conservation work depends on.

Tasks you will be involved with:

  • Digitising spatial data using GIS software.
  • Entering data into a range of prgrammes.
  • Checking data and completing analysis.

Experience and Skills needed for this role

  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using new software systems  
  • Enthusiasm for technology and digital solutions
  • Experience with GIS preferred

Benefits and Training opportunities

If you are new to this area of work the role will allow you to gain new GIS and data management skills. It can also be used to develop existing skills in data management. 

Hours are flexible to allow you to complete this role alongside other commitments. 

Considerations

  • You will need access to your own computer.
  • This role is 100% remote and computer based.
  • This roles requires experience with or enthusiasm to learn GIS.
  • We are looking for a commitment of 2 - 6 hours per week. 
  • Full training is given and you’ll only be asked to do work you are comfortable with.
  • The volunteer role is open to applicants over the age of 18.
