For those unable to benefit from a visit to one of our educational centres, Kent Wildlife Trust has developed a range of two-hour outreach opportunities suitable for schools, events and other educational groups, that will bring the wild to you!
Our school-based learning opportunities can be custom built to hit the learning objectives that your class needs whilst at the same time providing your pupils with engaging experiences beyond the classroom norm. Any of the following workshops can be adapted to be delivered in your grounds:
Rock Stars
A practical session exploring the rocks, soils and fossils of Kent.
Birds of Prey Discovery Lab
Dissect owl pellets in this exciting, hands-on workshop and investigate the food chains of Kent.
Perfect Plants
Discover the wonderful world of flowers and trees, the building blocks of habitats.
Beavers of Kent
Discover how beavers engineer their habitats in this hands-on, practical workshop.
Make your grounds a ‘Hotspot’ for wildlife’
Are you looking for ways to improve your school grounds, making them more climate resilient and biodiverse? We can visit your school and carry out a site visit to assess the green space, discuss development options and possible community engagement opportunities. A “Green Report” is then produced summarising the current situation and range of habitats available and which outlines recommendations for the next steps and how you can progress your plans to make your grounds more wildlife friendly.
