Commitment: Wednesday and Fridays
Frequency: Weekly
Location: East Kent Downs – Stelling Minnis, Elmsted, Barham, Petham
Why do we need you?
A typical High Downs site, Park Gate Down is renowned for its rich chalk downland flora. Set in a remote valley surrounded by ancient woodland, scrub and hedgerow with patches of acidic grassland and heathland nearby. Help us reverse wildlife decline by working with landowners to link these habitats and improve the wider landscape.
A day in your life might include:
Spring & Summer: Path maintenance, fence repairs, weed control, green hay and wildflower seed spread
Autumn & Winter: Scrub and woodland coppicing. Hedge laying and tree popping
Experience and Skills needed
- You should be happy to work outdoors in all weathers.
- Be passionate about wildlife and the environment but no specialist knowledge is needed.
