Why do we need you?
The cleanliness, condition and comfort of our hides and other trail furniture have a massive impact on the way in which visitors perceive the reserve during their visits. The hide and trail volunteers are the key team maintaining a high level of standards across the reserve. The Sevenoaks Team need extra help to undertake basic ‘DIY’ and tasks across the site on a weekly basis.
A day in your life might include:
- Cleaning and replacement of worn out signage
- Greeting visitors on site and helping with general queries
- Encouraging visitors to use the site appropriately
- Fixing broken latches
- Cleaning hide windows
- Litter picking
- Snipping back overhanging vegetation
- Reporting findings back to the staff for escalation if necessary
Experience and Skills needed for this role
- Flexible
- Enthusiastic
- Willing to work alone
- Be personable, chatty and not afraid to strike up a conversation
- Calm, good under pressure
- A passion for nature and wildlife
- Basic 'DIY' skills

Considerations
- Reasonable expenses can be paid
- Full training is given and you’ll only be asked to do work you are comfortable with
- The volunteer role is open to applicants over the age of 18
- There may be some days where you are required to carry out the role alone therefore you need to be comfortable with lone working
