Kent Wildlife Trust restores chalk grassland at Dover Castle

Kent Wildlife Trust has completed an exciting project at Dover Castle to restore the historic chalk grassland there and installed new signage to educate visitors on the importance of the grazing and the habitat that surrounds the ancient site.

Rare butterflies found on Dover nature reserve

During a recent guided walk around Old Park Hill nature reserve in Dover – one of Kent Wildlife Trust’s newest nature reserves – Adonis blue butterflies were recorded for the first time since it became a reserve in 2012.

Cross-Channel cooperation aids wildlife

Old Park Hill nature reserve, in Whitfield, and the grounds of Dover Castle were invaded last weekend by dozens of French conservation volunteers alongside their Kent counterparts in a unique task which has transformed areas once densely overgrown with scrub and non-native trees such as holm oak and sycamore.
