Cross-Channel cooperation aids wildlife

As part of the Interreg Liparis Project, Kent Wildlife Trust and Conservatoire d’espaces naturels du Nord et du Pas-de-Calais are helping to restore internationally important chalk grassland habitat for orchids, butterflies, reptiles and many more threatened plants, animals and birds.

The Trust’s East Kent Area Warden, Pete Forrest, said: “It was a challenging but rewarding weekend in extremely wet conditions. But our French neighbours displayed the same commitment and passion for the task as our own team, so much gratitude to them for a magnificent effort.”
