Legacy Event 2019

On Wednesday 13th November we were delighted to be able to host 50 guests in the magnificent grounds of Canterbury Cathedral for a legacy event.

Kent Wildlife Trust invited guests who have been supporting Kent Wildlife Trust for a number of years, or those interested in leaving a gift in their Will, to a wonderful afternoon of presentations and high tea in the superb setting of Canterbury Cathedral Lodge.

Our Chief Executive Evan Bowen-Jones opened proceedings and gave some context as to where Kent Wildlife Trust is at the moment, and how Gifts in Wills are such a crucial part of our funding, with around 20% of our income each year coming from these incredible donations. This was followed by Alex Astley of Gullands solicitors who gave an informative talk around will writing and inheritance tax, and answered a variety of questions from the audience.

Paul Hadaway presenting about a Wilder Kent

After lunch, Paul Hadaway, our Director of Conservation delivered his Wilder Kent presentation, talking about the state of nature and why we desperately need to work towards a Wilder Kent now. He then ran through some of the exciting projects we are looking at over the next few years that could help us reverse the declines in wildlife.

Of course none of these projects past present or future would be possible without support from Gifts in Wills. We can only look ambitiously to creating a Wilder Kent for the future with this support. Of course we know that your loved ones come first, but a gift of 1% in your will could make a huge difference to Kent in the future.

All you need to leave a Gift in your Will to Kent Wildlife Trust is our address and charity number. To find out more, or if you would like to let us know about a gift you have made please contact Sam on sam.campbell@kentwildlife.org.uk or 01622 357812.
