Stockbury Hill Wood

A beautiful, diverse and species rich nature reserve situated near to to Maidstone. Please note that at the current time this reserve is not open for public visits.

Opening times: entry to the site is only allowed by prior arrangement with the Trust.
Best time to visit: May to June.

About the reserve

This tiny reserve consists mainly of yew, hornbeam and oak, with some beech. It is a good site for orchids, particularly butterfly orchid, lady orchid and fly orchid which all enjoy the dappled shade of the ride and glade network.
