Cromers Wood Story Trail

Using local features and wildlife as inspiration, six stories have been written from the point of view of the local inhabitants of Cromers Wood. Hear what life might be like from the point of view of an Ant or maybe a gnarly old Ash tree or maybe even one of our coppice workers.

Let the story trail regale you with tales of Witches and a forbidden love or maybe a very brittle badger. And why are the Dormice so important anyway?

Welcome to the Will You Marry Me Tree story - a story part of the Cromer's Wood Story Trail

This story trail is designed to be a self-guided trail around the main trail loop at Cromers wood where you will find wooden posts with a QR code that will take you to the relevant story.

The stories have been written by a local production company called The Hand of Doom and illustrated by local artist Megan Metcalf. The trail logo and QR code plaques have been created by Nebulo, a Kent based Design Company.

From this page, you can navigate independently of the QR codes to the individual stories using the links above – where each story is available as either a downloadable pdf to read or as an audio version to listen to. However, for the best possible experience, we recommend these are read or listened to while walking around Cromer's Wood.
