Spring Fun with Nature Tots

In an age where screens dominate children's attention and outdoor playtime is dwindling, it has never been more important to get outside and experience nature. Nature Tots offers a unique opportunity for toddlers and their families to immerse themselves in the wonders of the natural world. Nature Tots is a parent-toddler group inspired by the principles of Forest School and at Nature Tots, we're all about getting out into nature and exploring the great outdoors!

Connecting with nature

Research has shown that exposure to nature from a young age has numerous benefits, including improved cognitive abilities, enhanced creativity, reduced stress, and increased physical activity. Nature Tots provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore and connect with the natural world, supported by our expert tutors and their parents.

Exploration and discovery

Based on a Forest School ethos, Nature Tots is designed to help young children (and their parents) develop confidence, independence, and a love of nature. We believe that spending time in nature is crucial for children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development, and we’re committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Hands-on learning

Nature Tots believes in learning through experience and children are given the freedom to learn through play and exploration. From building dens to making mud pies, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and encourage creativity. Through hands-on experiences, children develop a deep appreciation for the natural world and learn valuable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience.

Environmental stewardship

At the heart of Nature Tots is a commitment to environmental stewardship. Through age-appropriate activities and discussions, children learn about the importance of conservation and the role they can play in protecting the planet. Whether it's planting flowers, picking up litter, or creating habitats for wildlife, Nature Tots instils a sense of responsibility and empathy towards the environment.

Building community

Nature Tots not only fosters a connection with nature but also builds a sense of community among families. By bringing together like-minded individuals, Nature Tots creates a support network where parents can share tips, advice, and experiences. Through shared adventures in nature, lifelong friendships are forged, creating a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie.

Our sessions take place in the beautiful natural settings of Tyland Barn Nature Park and Sevenoaks Nature Reserve, where children can explore the woods, play in the mud and discover the wonders of the natural world. We provide a range of activities that are designed to engage children’s senses, stimulate their creativity, and encourage them to learn about the world around them. This week with Anna, we were mud painting, den building for our cuddle critters and creating dreamcatchers. See below for pictures!

If you’re looking for a way to connect with nature and spend quality time with your child, why not join us at our next term of Nature Tots? Our sessions are a great way to make new friends, learn new skills, and have fun in the great outdoors. We can’t wait to meet you and your little one!
