Ashford Area Practical Team Volunteer

As an Ashford volunteer you will help restore rare and important habits, which are home to an incredible number of wildlife.

Location: Ashford
  • Commitment: Tuesdays & Thursdays

  • Frequency: Weekly

  • Location: Reserves local to Ashford

The Ashford Team is a friendly, enthusiastic team that loves to get stuck in and have a laugh. The team works across various nature reserves in and around Ashford, such as Hothfield Heathlands and Conningbrook Lakes Country Park.

Role overview

Tasks on these sites include tree coppicing, scrub cutting, building and repairing fences, hay cuts and pulling and cutting invasive species.

Commitment and Considerations

  • No previous experience required
  • Full training is given and you’ll only be asked to do work you are comfortable with
  • Reasonable travel expenses covered
  • You should be happy to work outdoors in all weathers (although we don't blame anyone going home because of torrential rain)!
