Action and Innovation for nature

The natural world isn't just something for us to enjoy - it sustains us. The decline of nature puts our very survival and prosperity under threat. It doesn't have to be like this. Our vision is for a better, wilder future. Our plan is both ambitious and innovative, and will deliver the urgent action that must be taken to tackle the nature and climate crises.

More about us

Kent Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity. We have over 32,000 members and over 1000 registered volunteers. We manage and protect over 9000 acres of land across more than 90 different sites and nature reserves, alongside 2 visitor centres.

What we do in Kent

We work closely with local communities, landowners, and partners to protect and improve habitats in the countryside, coast, and town for the benefit of the wildlife and people of Kent. We are working towards creating a better, more sustainable, wilder future.

Bison reintroduction

Thanks to funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, Kent Wildlife Trust and Wildwood Trust have partnered up to show how European bison can provide a sustainable solution to woodland management in south east England.

Reintroducing chough to Dover

Choughs have been absent from the wild in Kent for over 200 years due to habitat loss and historical persecution. Yet, this species has retained a deep cultural link throughout Kent's history - these iconic birds can be spotted on pub signs across our county as well as on the Canterbury coat of arms itself.

Nature-Friendly Farming

Only by working together with farmers can we restore nature in Kent at a landscape scale. We are here to support them, working together to create a more sustainable farming future, that is better for rural communities and our wildlife.

South East Pine Marten Restoration

Kent Wildlife Trust and Wildwood Trust, in collaboration with Sussex Wildlife Trust, are assessing the feasibility of restoring pine martens to the South East of England.

Campaigns

Kent Wildlife Trust is working to raise awareness of the issues affecting wildlife. We campaign for positive change for nature and people and helping local communities to save special places for wildlife.
